Our Mission

Mission is at the heart of life here at St Georges. We seek to make known the love of Christ in people’s hearts and lives and are committed to that:

Locally: through events and fellowship, the ‘Weald Opportunity Fund’, prayer and visiting, Church services on the Green, the Labyrinth at St George’s, the Alpha course, St George’s Prayer Shawl Ministry, and through the lives and witness of the congregation.

Nationally: we support the work of Patrick Kangi in south London, alongside the Salvation Army and the London City Mission.

Globally: We support the Finnie Family in South Africa, serving the Lord there and making the name of Jesus known.

Financially and prayerfully we support the palliative care organisation that Julia Downing worked for, and continues to be linked with, and also Sam and Abby Baguma in their work with Mission Aviation Fellowship.

In 2014, via New Wine and Tearfund‘s ‘Change a Nation’ project, we were twinned with Ihungu church in Uganda, pledging to lead a process of equipping people and overcoming poverty through a 3-year partnership.

We also support a Priest in training in Africa, and the Gilbert family in China.
